AIMCO began in 1970 as the United States' exclusive importer for the Japanese-based manufacturer Uryu Seisaku, Ltd. who, since 1915, pioneered the manufacturing of pneumatic power tools in Japan. AIMCO and Uryu are still partners today and Uryu remains the leading brand in AIMCO's portfolio.
